Mamoru Oshii, director of “Ghost in the Shell”, “The Sky Crawlers”, “Avalon” and “Patlabor” (among others), has received the okay to release “Assault Girls” this December 19th through the Theater Tokyo Chain. This will be Oshii’s first live action film in eight years.
The film will star Oscar nominated Rinko Kikuchi (Babel), Meisa Kuroki, Hinako Saeki. The three women of “Assault Girls” will be battling in the desert landscape of a post-apocalyptic world.
