This is one of my favorite Sammo Hung movies,a great story line with so many twists and turns that makes you watch from start to finish without pausing it.
Sammo plays the character Chen Ling, who is searching for a master to teach him in kung fu. After his first encounter with actor “Chong Fat”, chen finds himself face to face with the guys master. To prove he could win, he challenges the grey haired fighter and defeats him with his fast footwork, great weaponary and even a front flip kick to finish him off.
On his travels chen stumbles across Lung Cheung Yow (leung Kar Yan) who defeats chen, so chen follows him around and tries to get him to teach kung fu, but Yow refuses. What chen doesn’t know is that hes just walked straight in to a family fued of Yow’s between him and his older Yo Wing. The fued as been going on years since the day his brother tried to rape Yow’s wife on there wedding day.
Also in the movie is an unknown assassin who has been blackmailed into killing Yow because his own mother has been kidnapped. Theres a funny scene with sammo pretends to be a vampire to get hold of a dead body,(But his fangs fell out at the wrong time).
This movie as incredible fight scenes with sammo hung and leung kar yan showing how good they are, with wing chun style movements and blocks, lots of weapon work and plenty of bad guys running about makes this movie a sammo hung classic. Sammo plays a great comedy role in the film, his acting ability really is fantastic and believable.
Overall a superb movie and i give it 10/10

*NOTE* – Yuen biao and Lam Ching Ying helped with the fight choreography, they are in the background during fights and Biao also doubles the main stars for flips and harder timing in the shots.
