Sammo Hung - Shaolin Temple series

Sammo Hung is back in this new Tv series (34 episodes), which is set in the Ming Dynasty under Jia Jing reign when the Chinese nation was plagued by Japanese pirates. Being co-produced by Shaolin Temple’s abbot Shi Yong Xing shows participation of Shaolin Temple, forming extras that include 120 Shaolin warrior monks, 200 lay followers and novice monks. Over ten of the monks are responsible for the martial arts choreography, whichshows real Shaolin Kungfu being showcased on the screen.

Sammo plays the top shaolin monk called big foot, whilst his son Sammy Hung play’s his disciple. Raymond lee expressed his great satisfaction for sammo hung whilst making the series saying “Being a martial artist, he’s able to execute all the moves, be them fist or staff, exactly as what the warrior monk did, after being shown only once.” He also went on to say more about the series, “”My proudest achievements are Shaolin cudgel, and a fist formation performed by 120 monks. It’s not often that we see such big scale scenes in martial arts productions.” Raymond Lee says that he intends to shoot a sequel, and the plot may be about Shaolin martial arts being spread to Japan and eventually being developed into Jujutsu.

Also starring yuen biao,Christopher lee Ming Shun, Jeanette Aw, Chin Siu Ho. The dvd a few days ago came out for sale so make sure you grab your copies as soon as you can.
