Kim Bum is a young rising South Korean actor who has appeared in various TV series such as High Kick and East of Eden and became most popular as So Yi Jung in Boys over Flowers. He also starred in the movies “I Like it Hot” and “Death Bell”. But he will be ending this year with a bang in the movie “Emergency”.
Taking his first lead role as Si-beom, he will play as an aspiring actor working as a host in a night club who fell in love with a mentally-ill woman named Soo-kyeong portrayed by Kim Byul. Lee Chae Young and Bae Soo Bin will also star in this movie that tells a story about young love, pain, suffering and growing up.
Kim met Bae (Ho Su) and joined his gang to earn more money that got him involved in frequent gang fights. Kim and Bae’s character has opposing views on love. Kim is the type that is willing to risk everything for love while Bae is someone who doesn’t believe in it at all. Lee forms part of a love triangle by desiring for Kim’s love. But Kim already accorded his love for Byul who later loses her sanity from her devastating family life causing her to be sent on a psychiatric asylum.
Directed by Park Jeong-hoon, Emergency with a Korean title “Bi Sang” is an action melodrama that will be shown in Korea on December 3, 2009.
