Filipino boxer and Seven time world boxing champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao continues to shine in three different fields he is into. The only boxer in history to ever win seven world titles, Pacquio once again gave honor to his country with his recent bout with Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto.
Born and raised in the Philippines, he started his boxing career when he was 16 years old. Despite his mother’s objections, he joined local fights that took place in small venues. Known for his speed and strong punches he won numerous bouts and became an instant star locally. With the help of his American Coach Freddie Roach, Manny Pacquio won seven world boxing titles and named by Time Magazine Asia as one of the highest paid and most influential boxer of his generation.
His popularity continued to soar with numerous product endorsements making him one of the richest people in the Philippines. Pacquiao also started a singing career with local hits such as “Para sa yo ang laban na to” (this fight is for you) and other Tagalog songs. He was recently a guest on the American Talk Show Jimmy Kimmel Live where he sang “Sometimes when we touch”. He also became a Television Star with his own sitcom on GMA 7 entitled “Show Me Da Manny”.
To add more on his popularity, Hollywood Actor Sylvester Stallone is said to be interested in doing a movie with Manny Pacquiao. Stallone, being a fan of Pacquiao said if a good script is passed then he would be willing to do the movie.
Manny Pacquiao will be next seen in his latest film “Wapakman” a comedy-fantasy film to be released by December in the Philippines and his official entry to the Manila Film Festival.
