New posters for the sequel to the 2007 hit film “Le Grand Chef” were released recently. The storyline of the “Le Grand Chef 2: Kimchi War” may have a different storyline from the original film, it appears to be following the recipe for success that made the original film a hit. The original movie was also made into a hit television drama, “Gourmet”.
The new movie starts with a debate on the origin of kimchi between the Korean president and the Japanese Prime Minister. This incident pushes the South Korean Prime Minister to set the globalization of kimchi. What happens next is the rivalry between siblings in a Kimchi dish contest, with both of them utilizing the kimchi recipe of their mother. The movie stars Kim Jung-eun as uncompromising chef and Jin Gu as her step-brother. On the poster, Kim Jung-eun’s character pronounces’ “My cuisine is about pride” while Jin Gu’s says “My cuisine is a story”. The “Le Grand Chef 2: Kimchi War” is scheduled to be released on January 28, 2010.
